Job Description

Geo Owl · SDVOSB · Est. 2013

Full Motion Video (FMV) Analyst

FMV · MOTION GEOINT · COUNTERTERRORISM OPERATIONS

Some intelligence roles are about watching. This one is about seeing what matters, understanding why it matters, and helping decision-makers act with speed and confidence. As a Geo Owl FMV Analyst, you will build high-value motion GEOINT tradecraft, support global counterterrorism operations, and grow inside a team that takes the mission—and your development—seriously.

Role Overview

Geo Owl is looking for a motivated, dependable Full Motion Video Analyst to support time-sensitive intelligence missions in a high-tempo operational environment. In this role, you will analyze and exploit FMV collected by ISR platforms, integrate intelligence from multiple disciplines, produce imagery-derived reports and graphics, and help deliver actionable intelligence to senior Government decision-makers.

This opportunity is designed for both developing intelligence professionals and current FMV-qualified analysts. You will receive a three-week formal training course, robust on-the-job training, and structured opportunities to expand into advanced FMV, SAR, GMTI, instructor, research, subject matter expert, or management pathways.

Source-Derived Role Summary

The FMV Analyst develops and applies FMV tradecraft through formal training and on-the-job development; exploits ISR platform video; applies HUMINT and SIGINT context; produces imagery-derived graphics and reports; prepares intelligence materials for senior-level briefings; and supports global counterterrorism operations.

A Day in the Life
  • ✓Analyze live or recorded FMV from ISR platforms and identify mission-relevant activity, patterns, and anomalies.
  • ✓Fuse FMV observations with HUMINT, SIGINT, and broader intelligence context to support actionable assessments.
  • ✓Build imagery-derived graphic products, reports, and briefing materials that communicate findings clearly under operational timelines.
  • ✓Use FMV exploitation tools, electronic light tables, and national imagery sources to support precise analysis and reporting.
  • ✓Participate in formal training, OJT, and mission-specific familiarization to deepen motion GEOINT capability.
  • ✓Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining accuracy, focus, and team communication.
Why This Role Matters

Mission Impact

Your analysis helps protect our nation, our freedoms, and the families behind them by turning ISR collection into intelligence that can inform real operational decisions.

Geo Owl Impact

Geo Owl is built around serious GEOINT tradecraft. This role strengthens the team’s ability to deliver precise, timely, mission-relevant products to customers who depend on clarity.

Your Growth

From day one, you will have access to training, certifications, structured advancement pathways, and potential cross-training into advanced FMV, SAR, GMTI, instruction, and research roles.

Core Responsibilities
  • ▸Develop FMV tradecraft through a three-week formal training course and a robust on-the-job training program.
  • ▸Exploit FMV collected by ISR platforms and apply HUMINT and SIGINT context to produce actionable intelligence.
  • ▸Create and distribute imagery-derived graphic products and reports for senior decision-makers across Government agencies.
  • ▸Compile, prepare, and communicate intelligence materials that support high-level briefings and operational understanding.
  • ▸Use advanced imagery tools, including electronic light tables, to exploit national technical means imagery.
  • ▸Support continuous improvement in analytic quality, reporting clarity, and customer mission support.
Required Qualifications
  • ✓Active TS/SCI security clearance and the ability to successfully complete a polygraph examination.
  • ✓Three or more years of intelligence experience, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a customer-approved discipline.
  • ✓Completion of a formal intelligence school course, typically three or more months full time, resulting in an Intelligence MOS such as All-Source, IMINT, SIGINT, or HUMINT.
  • ✓Understanding of the basic intelligence cycle and the TCPED process.
  • ✓Ability to type at least 32 words per minute with 90% accuracy without looking at the keyboard.
  • ✓Ability to accurately distinguish red, green, blue, and yellow on video screens.
  • ✓Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am, alternating days and nights monthly, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ▸Prior military training and intelligence experience.
  • ▸Basic understanding of national-level imagery production standards.
  • ▸Familiarity with FMV exploitation, FMV sensor capabilities, and national imagery analysis.
  • ▸Background in counterterrorism analysis or high-tempo operational intelligence support.
  • ▸Ability to relay and articulate information clearly during dynamic operations.
  • ▸Proficiency solving routine tasks of varying complexity using established procedures.
  • ▸Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
  • ▸You stay calm and accurate when the pace is high, the timeline is compressed, and the details matter.
  • ▸You communicate clearly, especially when handing off information across shifts, teams, or mission partners.
  • ▸You are hungry to learn—FMV, imagery, sensors, culture, reporting standards, and the larger intelligence picture.
  • ▸You understand that good analysis is disciplined: observe, validate, contextualize, communicate, and improve.
  • ▸You collaborate well with Government customers and teammates while bringing practical ideas to complex mission problems.
Is This Role For You?

✔ Great Fit

You are a cleared intelligence professional who wants mission relevance, structured training, serious tradecraft, and a path to grow into higher-value analytic, instructor, SME, research, or management opportunities.

✘ May Not Be For You

This may not be the right fit if rotating 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, fast operational tempo, or strict clearance and polygraph requirements do not align with what you want next.

Career Growth & Professional Value

At Geo Owl, career development starts on day one. This role offers comprehensive hands-on training, advanced skills certifications, generous paid time off, education benefits, and structured advancement pathways. As your capability grows, you may have opportunities to expand into Synthetic Aperture Radar, Ground Moving Target Indicator, advanced FMV research, FMV instruction, subject matter expert responsibilities, or leadership roles.
