Food Service Worker
Parks & Recreation, Thrive 55+
Non-Union, Regular Part-Time, up to 30 hours/week
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Day Shift)
Position eligible for prorated benefits
STARTING RATE:
$18.50 / hour
POSITION RANGE:
$18.50 – $20.00 / hour
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Food Service Worker duties will primarily entail food preparation which includes monitoring food temperatures, maintaining safe food handling regulations, maintaining a clean working area, and serving. Other duties include running the dishwasher, mopping, stocking shelves, inventory monitoring, cashiering, and general cleaning of facilities. Supervises kitchen operations in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor.
Positive customer service skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals required. Must possess and maintain the ability to have courteous working relationships with town officials, public officials, residents, members of the general public, other town departments, co-workers, and volunteers. Must be able to read and follow directions; work independently and as part of a team.
The skills and knowledge would generally be acquired with a high school education and two years satisfactory work experience in a food service facility. The physical demands of the position require the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, bend, squat, twist, and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Computer skills desired for cashiering system.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Serve Safe Certification.
