Position Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Location: 1026 Keith Drive, Perry, GA 31069
Department: Nursing
Reports To: Director of Nursing (DON) / Registered Nurse (RN)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $18.00–$25.00 per hour
Annual Salary Equivalent: Approximately $37,440–$52,000 annually
Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care and support to adolescents
receiving treatment in a residential mental health facility. Under the supervision of the
Director of Nursing (DON), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the
CNA assists with activities of daily living, monitors clients’ well-being, documents
observations, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Essential Job Duties
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and other assigned measurements.
Observe and promptly report changes in a resident’s physical or emotional condition to
licensed nursing staff.
Assist residents with meals, hydration, and daily routines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment.
Assist with room preparation, linen changes, and basic housekeeping related to resident
care.
Provide compassionate, respectful, and trauma-informed care to adolescents.
Assist with admissions, room orientation, and discharge preparation as directed.
Accurately document care provided according to facility policies.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including appropriate use of PPE.
Respond appropriately during emergencies and participate in safety drills.
Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, behavioral health technicians, and other
members of the treatment team.
Attend required staff meetings and mandatory training.
Qualifications
Current Georgia CNA certification in good standing.
High school diploma or GED.
Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Ability to successfully complete required background checks and drug screening.
Behavioral health or adolescent care experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication, observation, and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis situations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, or transfer up to 50 pounds with assistance when appropriate.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
