Job Summary

Lofton Staffing Services is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor/Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of multiple buildings in Saint Benedict, LA. The ideal candidate will have commercial cleaning experience, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties throughout assigned buildings.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restroom facilities.
• Clean up spills and maintain safe walkways and work areas.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Notify supervisors of maintenance issues or major repairs needed.
• Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Ensure all assigned equipment is kept clean and in proper working condition.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience stripping and maintaining floors is required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to use standard cleaning equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of the proper use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Ability to wear and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and company policies.
• Experience using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is preferred, or willingness to learn.
• Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
