Environmental Site Supervisor — Job Description

 

The Well Done New Mexico LLC Environmental Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing industry best environmental best practices and company policies at orphan well plugging sites in the Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies, Refuge regulations, and implementing sustainable practices to protect the environment.

 

Role Overview

The Environmental Site Supervisor manages the day-to-day environmental activities of an orphan well plugging site operation, supervises environmental resource teams, and ensures that all contracted and in-house operations meet company, local, state, and federal environmental standards. The role is critical in preventing pollution, conserving resources, and responding to environmental incidents. The Environmental Site Supervisor ensures that an orphan well plugging site operates in an environmentally responsible manner, balancing regulatory compliance with sustainable practices and company operating standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Orphan Well Plugging site operations: Manage waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation programs.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to company best practices, environmental laws, standards, and permits; interpret and apply regulations to site activities.
  • Environmental management systems: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management plans and procedures.
  • Site inspections: Conduct daily inspections and oversee daily critical operations to identify environmental risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Recordkeeping: Prepare and maintain environmental reports, logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Staff training: Provide guidance and training on environmental standards, best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work with contractors, regulators, and other departments to execute environmental plans.
  • Emergency response: Lead containment, clean up and mitigation efforts during environmental incidents.
  • Audits and corrective actions: Participate in environmental audits and recommends and implement necessary corrective measures.
     

Typical Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: HAZWOPER, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, NEHA, or other relevant environmental certifications.
  • Experience: Background in environmental compliance, project management, or environmental remediation.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, data analysis, and sustainable practices; leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

 

Work Environment

This role involves extensive fieldwork, daily site inspections, and collaboration with diverse teams in all of Oklahoma’s weather. Physical demands may include walking, standing, lifting and working in varied conditions.

 

Compensation

This is a salaried position, and compensation will be set depending on experience and demonstrated acumen. The successful candidate be provided with a company vehicle.

 

Work Schedule

This position typically works Monday through Friday with weekends and federal holidays off.
