Position: Repair Buyer
Location: Chandler, AZ
Pay Rate: $23.00–$24.00/hour

Job Summary

The Repair Buyer will support the NXP Chandler parts room by managing repairable spare parts and coordinating repair activities with vendors. This is a highly hands-on role requiring regular movement of parts between designated locations, including drop-off, storage, pending approval, and shipping/dock areas. Candidates should expect physical activity for up to 50% of the workday in addition to procurement responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process repair orders based on customer-approved minimum and maximum inventory levels.
• Create purchase orders and route them through the approval process.
• Transmit purchase orders to vendors and coordinate repair activities.
• Request RMAs (Return Material Authorizations) for approved repairs.
• Complete DECON documentation and shipping paperwork.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain accurate pricing and delivery schedules.
• Track and manage open liabilities and outstanding repair orders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Support inventory management and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Achieve Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) savings goals established by management.
• Move repairable parts between designated work areas, storage locations, and shipping docks as required.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain role.
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and order processing.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong math and data analysis abilities.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and remain active throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred, not required).
• Experience in a manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP systems.

Important Note

This is not a traditional desk-based buyer position. The role requires significant hands-on involvement, including walking throughout the facility and moving repairable parts between various locations. Candidates must be comfortable with both procurement responsibilities and physical activity throughout the day.
