NCCCO Certified Crane Operator – Job Description
Core Responsibilities
The Well Done New Mexico LLC NCCCO-certified crane operator is responsible for operating mobile, overhead, or telescopic boom cranes to drive piling, lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, products, or bulk materials using hoisting attachments such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, or buckets. They must observe load hookups, determine load safety, and manipulate crane controls including pedals, levers, and joysticks according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. Operators also perform pre-operation inspections, maintenance, and lubrication of crane components, and report any defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance
The Well Done New Mexico LLC Crane Operator must adhere to OSHA standards and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and safety shoes. They are trained to identify hazards, prevent accidents, and follow lift plans, load charts, and operating manuals. Work may involve heights, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, noise, and exposure to chemicals or dust, requiring vigilance and physical fitness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certification: NCCCO or NCCER crane operator certification is required.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience operating cranes in industrial, construction, or refinery settings. Pile driving experience is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret load charts, lift plans, and manuals; communicate effectively with team members; and work as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements: Must be capable of working in physically demanding conditions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working on uneven surfaces.
Work Environment
The Well Done New Mexico LLC Crane operators work primarily outdoors or in industrial facilities, including refineries, construction sites, docks, and fabrication shops. They may be required to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, and may need to operate in extreme weather conditions. Operators are expected to maintain focus and precision during lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities
Well Done New Mexico LLC Crane Operators may be required to train new operators, assisting with rigging, transporting materials, and supporting other crafts. Operators must also maintain logs, reports, and comply with company and governmental regulations.

Compensation
This is a full-time salaried position and compensation will be set depending upon experience and demonstrated acumen. The successful candidate will be provided with a company vehicle.
Work Schedule
This position typically works Monday through Friday with weekends and Federal Holidays off.
