SmartDrone, founded in 2020 by experienced executives in the commercial drone space is launching as a fully funded business, with market-validated technology, and a go-to-market plan for you to join at the ground floor. We focus on developing automatic aerial digitization solutions. Data from an array of sensors is processed onboard to produce digitized models for various commercial and industrial uses. SmartDrone has completed projects and sold drones for hundreds of customers across 28 of the United States and is growing.  Their NDAA compliant drones are designed, engineered, and manufactured in Tyler, Texas.

This job is located in Tyler, Texas.

About the Ideal Candidate:

We are currently seeking a Traveling Drone Pilot to oversee the ground and flight operations of an unmanned aircraft system during demos and customer training.  This is a position that requires at least 50%-60% travel.  You will be the company ambassador responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers and support the Company’s long-term vision and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for all flight operations and data collection activities for customer demonstrations or in-field support.
  • Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites and perform flights for demonstrations and training.
  • Be the voice of customer and report to the respective teams of learnings in the field.
  • First line of customer support in field or in office.


Requirements:

  • US Work authorization.
  • Current valid driver’s license and means of transportation.
  • Must be able to lift or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to physically walk to sites in rough terrain.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions.
  • Possess your Remote Pilot Certificate (USA Part 107 license) is preferred.
  • Experience in surveying or construction is preferred.
  • Experience working with GIS and CAD is preferred.
  • Industry recognized certifications and/or training are preferred.
