Forklift Operator (sit-down & stand-up)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for a wholesale distribution facility specializing in lifting, marine, and industrial hardware. The company imports and distributes heavy-duty products including steel wire ropes, chains, rigging hardware, and steel castings. The ideal candidate will have experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts, performing inventory control, and using computer systems for warehouse and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move, load, unload, and store heavy industrial materials and hardware.
• Handle inbound and outbound shipments of lifting, marine, and industrial products including wire rope, chains, rigging equipment, and steel components.
• Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials according to company procedures.
• Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Use warehouse management systems and computer software to track inventory and process transactions.
• Ensure proper handling and placement of heavy-duty and oversized materials.
• Inspect forklifts daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Verify shipment accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Support shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, especially when handling heavy industrial goods.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1–2 years of forklift experience (sit-down and stand-up required).
• Experience in inventory control and warehouse operations.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including data entry and inventory systems.
• Ability to safely handle heavy and industrial-grade materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

• Day Shift
• Monday through Friday
• Overtime and weekends as needed

Pay Rate:

• $17.00–$18.00 per hour, based on experience
