CAD Designer II – Indianapolis, IN (On‐Site)

Full‐Time | Monday–Friday | No nights or weekends


The CAD Designer II plays a critical role in producing accurate, detailed plumbing and mechanical designs using CAD software. This position supports multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring first‐time quality, timely deliverables, and clear communication across internal teams and external partners.


Responsibilities

Software / CAD

  • Expertly manage multiple design projects at once using CAD software
  • Produce plumbing and mechanical designs based on client and company specifications
  • Create pre‐fab drawings along with state, permit, and construction documents within required timelines


Project Design

  • Develop accurate, detailed plans for plumbing and mechanical systems
  • Ensure all drawings meet internal standards and project requirements
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all design deliverables


Information Gathering

  • Review builder documents and interpret project options accurately
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable plumbing and HVAC code requirements
  • Gather and apply information from multiple sources to ensure complete, compliant designs


Communication

  • Collaborate with architects, general contractors, field engineers, project managers, and internal departments
  • Ask clarifying questions to define project scope and design needs
  • Use project management software to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow transparency


Qualifications

  • Clear, effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to incorporate multiple perspectives
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and problem‐solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Ability to utilize Revit, Navisworks, Design Review, and Bluebeam
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 4+ years of CAD design experience
  • Basic construction knowledge required
  • Valid driver’s license preferred


Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday–Friday
  • On‐site in Indianapolis
  • Indoor office setting with moderate noise and light foot traffic
