Counter Sales Representative - 2289

Description

A leading HVAC Distributor is looking for a Counter Sales Representative to drive daily branch sales through accurate order processing, product knowledge, and superior contractor service while ensuring inventory control discipline and pricing accuracy.

• Salary: $40,000 – $46,000 annually + Overtime & Commission
• Benefits: Health Insurance, PTO, 401k

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and technicians with parts and equipment selection
• Recommend alternative or upsell products when appropriate
• Prepare and process sales orders in the ERP system (cash and account sales)
• Provide pricing, availability, and lead time information
• Maintain professional counter presence and service discipline
• Identify HVAC components (motors, capacitors, contactors, compressors, thermostats, mini-splits, etc.)
• Read model numbers and cross-reference parts
• Interpret basic product specifications and compatibility
• Create sales orders, invoices, and credit memos
• Verify customer account status and credit limits
• Coordinate with the warehouse for accurate order picking
• Ensure correct tax treatment and payment processing
• Monitor fast-moving SKUs
• Report stock discrepancies
• Assist with cycle counts as needed
• Maintain an organized counter area and product displays
• Build loyalty with repeat contractors
• Maintain professional rapport
• Escalate large opportunities to the branch manager or outside sales

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in HVAC parts distribution (preferred)
• Knowledge of HVAC components and equipment
• Experience in a wholesale or contractor supply environment
• ERP system familiarity (SAP Business One, Sage, Macola, or similar preferred)
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
• Basic computer proficiency
