Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our team in West Columbia, SC.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality service.

Hours: 7a-5p
Pay: $30-$35 (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and suspension components using OEM schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes
• Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Repair and service powertrain systems including transmissions and drive axles.
• Execute tire services, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and suspension adjustments to maintain safety standards.
• Interpret technical schematics and OEM manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring timely completion of work.
• Maintain detailed service records and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven diesel mechanic experience
• Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks in diverse environments.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing customer support.
