In this role, you travel frequently to project sites, perform structural repairs and inspections, and support field service operations to ensure critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable, and compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various project sites for extended periods, typically up to 5–6 weeks at a time followed by a week off.
  • Repair and restore heavy-duty steel and wood structures such as utility poles, lighting grids, and telecommunication towers.
  • Perform concrete work, including building, setting, and repairing concrete forms.
  • Operate table saws, drills, and a wide range of power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct structural inspections to identify damage, wear, or safety concerns and document findings accurately.
  • Support field service and repair activities, including on-site troubleshooting and maintenance of structures.
  • Carry out quality assurance tasks to ensure all work meets company standards and industry regulations.
  • Perform basic data entry to record work performed, inspection results, and project details.
  • Work at heights comfortably and safely, following all safety procedures and using appropriate fall protection.
  • Collaborate with crew members on-site to complete projects on time and to specification.
  • Adapt to working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.

Essential Skills

  • Concrete and construction experience, particularly in structural and utility-related projects.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including trips lasting 5–6 weeks at a time.
  • Comfort working at heights on steel and wood structures such as poles and towers.
  • Experience with field service repair in a construction or utility environment.
  • Experience performing structural inspections or assisting with inspection activities.
  • Proficiency with power tools and hand tools, including table saws and drills.
  • Ability to perform basic data entry to document work and inspection results.
  • Knowledge in concrete or utility construction, with at least 5+ years of experience in the concrete/utility field that includes travel.
  • Demonstrated leadership characteristics and the ability to take initiative on-site.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols in the field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Skid steer experience is a plus.
  • Experience in utility construction involving steel and wood structures is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in long-duration field assignments or projects lasting several weeks to months.
  • Ability to mentor or guide less experienced crew members, supporting internal promotion and team development.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and report project status.
  • Solid problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in the field, often in remote or challenging environments.

Why Work Here?
