Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
This role supports manufacturing, assembly, and warehouse operations by operating production equipment, handling materials, and performing quality checks in a fast-paced industrial environment. You will work with modern machinery and computer systems, contribute to a clean and safe workplace, and support both production and logistics activities as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with all relevant work instructions, quality plans, and internal policies.
- Operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles in line with OSHA safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Perform quality inspections on incoming products, in-process manufacturing, and finished goods following defined work instructions and quality plans.
- Interact with computer systems to support production and logistics functions, including basic data entry and system navigation.
- Initiate, maintain, and continuously improve cleanliness and organization in the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
- Maintain a safe, quality-focused, productive, and positive attitude at all times while on the job.
- Communicate effectively with team members and all levels of the organization to support smooth operations.
- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and perform physical tasks such as standing for most of the shift, bending, reaching, and lowering materials as part of manufacturing and warehouse processes.
- Work all hours required by the operation, including off shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management to support assembly, manufacturing, and logistics operations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to operate manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently.
- Experience with general labor tasks such as assembly, packaging, and material handling.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines.
- Capability to perform basic quality control and inspection activities on products and components.
- Comfort using hand tools and basic mechanical tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and stand for the majority of working hours while performing repetitive motions such as bending and reaching.
- Ability to interact with computer systems to support production and logistics functions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including off shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CNC or other automated equipment is a plus but not required.
- Ability to operate a computer with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings of manufactured products.
- Ability to understand and use basic measurement tools such as dial calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to understand and use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
- Willingness and ability to earn and maintain a forklift operator’s license and any other required industrial vehicle certifications.
- Experience in machine operation, assembly, packaging, or general mechanical work is beneficial.

Work Environment
The role is based in a modern manufacturing and warehouse facility that supports assembly operations and logistics for highly engineered fastening solutions used in plate heat exchangers and wind turbines. The factory and equipment are new, providing a clean, up-to-date, and efficient work setting. Team members work across multiple facets of the plant, including assembly lines, manufacturing areas, and warehouse/logistics zones, using hand tools, measurement devices, forklifts, and computer systems such as Microsoft Office and potentially SAP. The environment is physically active, requiring frequent lifting, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive motions. Work hours may include various shifts, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
