Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative maintains and grows relationships with current and potential customers by managing the full sales support cycle, from quoting and order entry to follow-up and issue resolution. This role focuses on presenting and selling products, processing purchase orders, and coordinating customer requirements with cross-functional teams while working under general supervision and exercising independent judgment on matters of significance.
Responsibilities
- Present and sell company products to current and potential customers through professional and consultative communication.
- Establish new customer accounts and obtain complete and accurate customer profiles for ongoing relationship management.
- Prepare detailed quotes, send them to customers in a timely manner, and maintain organized quote files and records.
- Process customer purchase orders accurately, ensuring all product, pricing, and delivery details are correct.
- Provide drawings and other forms of product media to assist customers in understanding product features and applications.
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge to effectively support customers and internal teams.
- Generate new prices using established pricing methods and tools, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Enter new product part numbers, pricing, and delivery information into the system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Handle inbound calls and perform order entry and data entry tasks as needed to support customer needs.
- Maintain current and potential customer relationships by managing quoting, product pricing, order entry, follow-up, and purchase order review.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns by identifying issues, coordinating with appropriate departments, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate customer requirements with other cross-functional departments as applicable to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Customarily and regularly exercise independent discretion and judgment on matters of significance related to all job responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the sales function and overall business operations.
- Purchase order experience with demonstrated ability to review, process, and manage customer purchase orders.
- 2–3 years of experience in sales or a closely related inside sales or customer service role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, with good working knowledge of these applications.
- Experience with inbound calls, order entry, data entry, and order processing in a sales or customer service environment.
- Knowledge of customer service processes and operational methods related to sales support and order management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to handle multiple job functions simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and establish priorities with minimal oversight.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive company image in all customer interactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Self-motivation with a willingness to learn and expand knowledge of products, processes, and systems.
- Experience supporting sales teams in a manufacturing or product-focused environment.
- Familiarity with pricing tools and methods for generating customer-specific pricing.
- Comfort working with technical drawings or product media when assisting customers.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional departments such as design, production, or logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in daily responsibilities.
- Track record of contributing to customer satisfaction and long-term customer relationships.
- Interest in long-term career growth within a stable organization.
This role is based in a downtown Paso location and sits alongside the design team, providing close collaboration with technical and design professionals. The environment supports regular use of computers and standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as systems for order entry, pricing, and customer data management. The position operates under general supervision, with an expectation of working independently and prioritizing tasks throughout the day. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
