Job Description:
The Security Operations Coordinator manages the sites day-to-day security programs. They oversee physical security, access control, and incident response, while bridging communication between internal staff, compliance, safety and local emergency services to ensure a safe environment for employees and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee access control, visitor management, CCTV monitoring, and alarm response to prevent unauthorized entry or security breaches.
- Coordinate responses to on-site security incidents, medical emergencies, security system malfunctions, or safety threats.
- Conduct preliminary investigations, draft detailed incident reports, and escalate in accordance with company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local security, safety and security monitoring protocols, review shift logs and report issues to on site DOO/DOC.
- Ensures visitors and vendors are properly logged and checked in, and site escort is notified.
- Develop and update site-specific safety plans, business continuity protocols, and coordinate routine emergency evacuation or crisis drills.
- Participate and facilitate routine security audits as needed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external agencies—such as local law enforcement, first responders, or regulatory bodies upon building entry(e.g., LDH).
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to acquire a state-required badge to work in a marijuana production facility, which may require an applicant to undergo and pass a background check
- Demonstrated ability to direct contracted staff, de-escalate conflicts, and make quick, sound decisions during high-stress situations.
- Experience with modern security systems, including Video Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Software (e.g., Lenel, Genetec), and incident tracking databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for producing reports and delivering security training to new employees.
- Demonstrated having undergone and successfully completed training in theft prevention, emergency response, appropriate use of force, or other subject(s) related to providing security services.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
- 3+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, physical security operations, or emergency management.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly.
- The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
- Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity.
