Welder Pay Rate and Hours
- $25.00/hr
- M-Thur 5am-3:30pm, OT as required
Welder Purpose:
- Performs a variety of welding and grinding procedures on a variety materials and parts using manual and semi-automatic machines.
- Performs assembly/disassembly and fasten/unfastening parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications.
Welder Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares weld area appropriately to result in good weld penetration and meets structural integrity criteria
- Welds metal components using primarily MIG or FLUX CORE welding wire
- Welds galvanized and pre-primed material using appropriate techniques to produce high quality final parts
- Welds metal components using automated and semi-automated equipment
- Ensures dimensional accuracy and appearance criteria
- Properly set and adjust welding machine to produce quality welds
- Assembles/disassemble and fasten / unfasten parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications
- Assemble / disassemble small parts not requiring precision alignment or small tolerances
- Assemble / disassemble small parts requiring precision alignment and small tolerances
- Performs any other assigned task
Welder Basic Requirements:
- Prior non-code welding experience
- Must be able to comprehend the English language.
Welder Additional Requirements:
- Ability to perform welding in hard to reach and awkward positions
- Ability to walk/stand up to 10 hours per day
- Ability to perform work while wearing specialized welding PPE
Welder Desired Skills:
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to correctly prepare weld areas and set related equipment
- Ability to weld areas of fitted components in a strategic pattern to minimize or avoid warping due to post welding
