Machine Operator

Our client, a leading steel processing facility, is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the manufacturing department supporting the steel processing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate previous machine operator skills, experience working around steel, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Lynchburg, VA

Pay Range: $17

Shift: 2nd shift, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or later

What's the Job?

• Set up and operate steel processing machines to cut and process coils of metal.
• Read work orders carefully to determine sheet dimensions and ensure accurate cuts.
• Thread material through feed rollers, align against machine guides, and verify machine operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Communicate effectively with team members to optimize processing efficiency and safety.

What's Needed?

• Ability to read and understand technical documents, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Basic computer skills and math proficiency.
• Material handling, machine operation, and forklift operation skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check
