Compensation Analyst

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $43.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a compensation professional with strong analytical skills and experience working with market data, salary surveys, job evaluations, and compensation systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining competitive compensation programs, supporting salary planning initiatives, and ensuring compensation practices align with organizational goals and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compensation market analyses and benchmark positions against industry standards
  • Participate in and analyze third-party compensation surveys
  • Price jobs and evaluate positions using established job evaluation methodologies
  • Support salary structure development, market comparisons, and compensation planning initiatives
  • Analyze compensation data and market trends to provide recommendations for salary administration and workforce planning
  • Prepare, maintain, and update job descriptions in standardized formats
  • Audit job classifications and compensation actions to ensure compliance with organizational policies
  • Review pay rate changes for accuracy and policy adherence
  • Utilize compensation software and HR systems to manage compensation data and reporting
  • Research and resolve compensation-related inquiries from employees, managers, and HR partners
  • Assist in the administration of performance-based pay and merit increase programs
  • Develop reports, presentations, and analyses to support leadership decision-making
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compensation programs and job evaluations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to compensation processes and practices

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of compensation, HR analytics, or related experience
  • Strong compensation analytics and job evaluation experience
  • Experience working with compensation platforms such as PayFactors, PayScale, or similar systems preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools
  • Experience working with large datasets, salary surveys, and market benchmarking
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Healthcare compensation experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
