About the RoleHigh Point Residence Carlinville is seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that enhance the dining experience and quality of life for our residents.
The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, takes pride in creating high-quality meals, and is committed to providing exceptional service to seniors. You will work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Ensure food is prepared, served, and stored in accordance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, proper portioning, and presentation.
- Assist with inventory management, food storage, and supply organization.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to promote resident satisfaction and meal quality.
- Support special events, holiday meals, and community functions as needed.
- Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences to support resident well-being.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or food service setting.
- Experience with menu planning and inventory management.
- Experience working with seniors and accommodating special dietary needs.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- A passion for cooking and serving others.
- Strong attention to detail and food presentation.
