ASSEMBLER/TESTER II
This is a Temp-to-Hire Position
About the PositionAs an Assembler/Tester, you will perform assembly, relief point setting, testing, painting, and preparation for shipment of safety relief valves (SRVs), motor-operated valve (MOV) chokes, and other valve- and choke-related products using the facilities provided in the assembly and testing department.
Essential Functions- Receives instructions and work orders for assigned jobs and performs required tasks.
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to production specifications from work order kits.
- Tests and calibrates parts to meet tolerance and product specifications based on customer requirements and work orders.
- Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and performs repairs as necessary.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work environment.
- Clocks in and out of job orders to ensure accurate labor tracking.
- Maintains a daily test booth gauge log whenever a test booth is used to set a valve.
- Maintains product traceability by applying serial numbers to parts.
- Maintains quality assurance traceability by applying an individual inspection stamp during the assembly, setting, and testing processes.
- Works in a loud environment where hearing and eye protection are required.
- Has attained or is capable of attaining full proficiency in a specific area of work.
- Performs tasks requiring varying degrees of precision and control where errors could result in significant damage.
- Exercises attention and care to prevent injury to others while performing assembly and maintenance-related tasks.
- Performs work involving considerable stooping, bending, and working overhead.
- Works in environments with significant noise levels requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May be exposed to flying objects, including high-pressure air and water, metal nuts, bolts, and plugs.
- Understands and follows safety procedures to minimize hazards, including cuts, bruises, noise exposure, and flying debris.
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred.
- One to three years of related experience and/or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May be required to complete an apprenticeship program or on-the-job training.
$19/hr
