Duties

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality throughout each shift
• Plan menus in collaboration with dietary and culinary teams, incorporating diverse and nutritious options
• Handle food with care, maintaining proper food safety and sanitation standards at all times
• Assist with food presentation, garnishing dishes to enhance visual appeal for fine dining or catering events
• Manage meal preparation from start to finish, including ingredient measurement, cooking techniques, and plating
• Support dietary aides by providing guidance on food handling procedures and meal assembly
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, adhering to health regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience in dietary departments or food service environments, preferably with dietary aide or culinary background
• Strong knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation practices
• Skilled in menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques across various cuisines
• Experience in fine dining or catering settings is highly desirable
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food industry standards for food safety and quality control
• Ability to work efficiently from early morning through late afternoon hours with minimal supervision
• Prior restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
