Conveyor Maintenance Technician
Location: Covington, GA
Pay Rate: $29.00/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift — Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Overtime: Weekend overtime required as scheduled
Schedule Flexibility: Candidates must be open to working other shifts as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Conveyor Maintenance Technician with a strong background in warehouse conveyor systems, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role is responsible for maintaining automated conveyor equipment and supporting overall facility maintenance operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This is not an automotive mechanic position. Candidates must have hands-on experience working with conveyor systems and industrial maintenance equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections of facility equipment and systems to identify maintenance needs and prevent downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair automated conveyor systems and related mechanical equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, conveyors, building systems, and grounds
- Perform facility maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, controls, and mechanical repairs
- Install and set up new equipment and machinery as needed
- Maintain MHE batteries and assist with equipment upkeep
- Document maintenance, repair, and installation activities accurately
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
- Support housekeeping and general maintenance activities throughout the facility
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3.5–5 years of real-world maintenance experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining conveyor systems
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work mandatory overtime and weekends as needed
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts if required
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with automated conveyor systems in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge including:
- 12V and 24V AC/DC power
- 120V/208V power
- 277V/480V power
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment repairs
- Familiarity with SAP or work order management systems
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
