Junior Project Manager – Wastewater Treatment Construction (Traveling)
Location: Project Site Approximately 1 Hour Outside of Denver, Colorado (Traveling Position)
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000
Travel: Regional Travel with Per Diem & Rotational Schedule
Position Summary
We are seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a wastewater treatment facility project located approximately one hour outside of Denver, Colorado. This is a traveling position ideal for candidates based in or near Colorado, with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the region as future projects arise.
The Junior Project Manager will work alongside senior project leadership to assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and field coordination while gaining experience managing complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position includes a per diem while traveling and a travel rotation schedule to support work-life balance during long-term assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing wastewater treatment facility construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Review project drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents.
- Monitor project progress and assist in resolving field issues.
- Help manage subcontractor performance and maintain project documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Ensure compliance with project safety standards, quality requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Support procurement activities and material tracking.
- Assist with project reporting, change orders, and closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or Junior Project Manager in heavy civil, water, wastewater, or industrial construction.
- Experience supporting municipal water or wastewater treatment facility projects is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar construction management software is a plus.
- Ability to travel and work on-site for the duration of project assignments.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wastewater treatment plant construction.
- Knowledge of concrete structures, mechanical piping, process equipment, or underground utilities.
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Travel Information
- Initial project located approximately one hour outside of Denver, Colorado.
- Candidates located in Colorado or the surrounding region are strongly preferred.
- Per diem provided for eligible travel expenses.
- Travel rotation schedule offered to provide regular time at home.
