Position Summary
An Education Management Company (LMIS) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to support the developmental needs of children ages 18 months to 3 years. The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, and excited to help young children learn through hands-on exploration in a supportive early childhood environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing daily curriculum and activities.
- Supervise and engage toddlers in developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Support routines including feeding, diapering, and toilet training while maintaining proper hygiene.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with licensing standards.
- Observe children and communicate relevant updates to the Lead Teacher.
- Promote a calm, positive, and respectful environment for all children.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent care and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies and procedures.
Desired Experience
- One year of experience working with toddlers or in a licensed childcare environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of early childhood development or interest in learning Montessori-based practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and participate actively in classroom and outdoor activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CDA credential or Early Childhood coursework preferred but not required.
- Must pass all required state background checks and fingerprinting.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction while working as part of a team.
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $16.50 to $19.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
