Porter

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Porter to support the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments in the daily operation of our hotel. This position is responsible for maintaining clean and organized public areas, transporting supplies and linens, assisting with room readiness, and helping with general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist Housekeeping with transporting linens, towels, amenities, and cleaning supplies throughout the hotel.
• Remove trash and soiled linens from guest rooms and designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of hallways, stairwells, lobbies, elevators, laundry areas, and other public spaces.
• Deliver supplies, equipment, and guest-requested items to rooms and departments.
• Assist with room preparation and support housekeeping staff during busy periods.
• Support the Maintenance department with basic tasks such as moving furniture, painting touch-ups, replacing light bulbs, and property upkeep.
• Help maintain hotel grounds, entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and damaged property to management.
• Assist with deep-cleaning projects and special hotel improvement projects as assigned.
• Receive, organize, and store deliveries and supplies.
• Set up and move furniture or equipment for meetings, events, and operational needs.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures, cleanliness standards, and company policies.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to guests when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping, janitorial, maintenance, or general labor preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
