Job Description

A federal agency in San Antonio, TX is seeking experienced Paralegals to provide comprehensive litigation and legal support to attorneys handling complex civil matters. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing legal documents, managing case files, conducting legal research, analyzing records, and supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation.

This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile federal legal matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Assist attorneys with witness interviews and prepare interview summaries and records for use during depositions and litigation.
  • Review title commitments and related documents for accuracy and prepare deed history summaries.
  • Prepare legal documents including complaints, declarations, amended declarations, notices, motions, and other litigation-related filings.
  • Summarize depositions, hearings, and other legal transcripts.
  • Organize, maintain, and manage case files, exhibits, and litigation materials.
  • Track and document case activity, including preparing reports and maintaining case records.
  • Provide courtroom support by organizing exhibits, preparing exhibit cross-references, and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret information from multiple record systems and databases to support litigation.
  • Develop statistical analyses, charts, graphs, tables, and reports that assist attorneys in case preparation and presentation.
  • Design and maintain systems for tracking case files, evidence, exhibits, and litigation documents.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure timely completion of assignments and compliance with court deadlines.
  • Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Finance, English, Journalism, or a related field; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a Paralegal Certificate.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing legal support in a litigation environment.
  • Experience independently preparing legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, proposed orders, and other legal documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys and legal teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required federal background investigation.
