Position Summary


The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing inbound sales inquiries, qualifying customer opportunities, developing sales opportunities, and supporting business growth through consultative selling. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospective customers, helping them identify the most appropriate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), inspection, rental, or equipment solutions based on their operational requirements. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, commercially driven, and eager to develop a successful career in technical sales. Experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or technical service environments is advantageous but not required.


Key Responsibilities


  • Respond to inbound enquiries within agreed service levels and ensure each lead is qualified, progressed, or routed appropriately.
  • Qualify inbound opportunities using the PACT process to align customer problems with commercial value and technical fit.
  • Book qualified meetings for the wider sales team where opportunities fall outside the assigned swim lane, ensuring a clear handover with complete notes and next steps.
  • Sell directly across assigned swim-lane product categories
  • Match customers to the right rental, hire, or purchase solution based on their requirement and application.
  • Follow up quotations, inbound conversations, and open opportunities with clear next steps and strong commercial discipline.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities across new and existing customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer activity, qualification notes, quotes, opportunities, and follow-up actions in HubSpot.
  • Work closely with the wider sales team to ensure joined-up execution.
  • Support cold outbound activity when inbound volume is low, including follow-up of marketing campaigns, prospecting into target accounts and generating meetings aligned to technical specialists and sales priorities.
  • Escalate leads and opportunities that require technical support, site engagement, or specialist input.
  • Participate in ongoing sales, product, and industry training to improve commercial effectiveness and product knowledge.
  • Occasionally attend customer meetings, training sessions or trade events.


Skills


  • Good active listening skills and able to ask questions to understand customer needs.
  • Clear and confident communication, written and verbal
  • Strong organization skills and comfortable with a high activity role.
  • Ability to ask good questions and listen actively to understand customer needs
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Diploma or above.
  • Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, call center or phone-based sales is an advantage.
  • Exposure to technical, industrial or engineering environments is an advantage.
