Job Details

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards
• Evaluate medication therapies for appropriateness, effectiveness, and potential drug interactions
• Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
• Monitor patient medication profiles and recommend therapeutic alternatives when appropriate
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility pharmacy regulations
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
• Prepare and dispense sterile and non-sterile medications as required
• Participate in medication safety and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist with inventory management, medication storage, and controlled substance monitoring
• Respond to medication-related inquiries from healthcare providers and patients

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy program
• Active California Pharmacist License required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pharmacist experience
• Current BLS Certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, and pharmaceutical regulations
• Experience in hospital, clinical, or retail pharmacy settings preferred
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
• Commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care
