Job Description
The Process Technician on 3rd shift sets up, troubleshoots, and maintains highly automated plastic injection molding equipment in a clean, well-organized production environment. This role supports continuous 24/7 operations by ensuring machines run safely and efficiently, performing mold changes, monitoring product quality, and handling materials using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and work with plastic injection molding machines to ensure stable and efficient production.
- Check and adjust key process parameters such as pressure, melt temperature, and fill time to maintain product quality.
- Perform set-ups and changeovers on automated injection molding machines according to production requirements.
- Install molds, trim, and related tooling into machines following work instructions and blueprints.
- Maintain injection molding machines, including basic mechanical adjustments and preventive tasks to minimize downtime.
- Operate a forklift to safely pull molds, dies, and production racks as needed.
- Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move materials and finished goods.
- Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and production documentation accurately.
- Lift and handle items weighing up to 60–90 pounds as part of daily machine and material handling tasks.
- Use hand and power tools, including lever ratchets, to secure, remove, and adjust molds and tooling.
- Pull production racks and gather samples of seals for inspection and quality checks.
- Dump plastic seals into production boxes and visually inspect them to identify obvious defects.
- Support packaging, assembly, and production line activities as needed to meet output goals.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
- Consistently wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machines and material staging zones.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes.
- Document work performed as required and communicate machine or quality concerns promptly.
- At least 2 years of hands-on plastic injection molding experience.
- Proven experience troubleshooting production machinery and resolving process issues.
- Experience working with highly automated manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions accurately.
- Capability to lift at least 60 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Background in manufacturing or warehouse operations, including production line activities.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and consistently use required PPE.
- Comfort working a 12-hour overnight shift (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) on a rotating schedule.
- Experience with plastic injection molding in a high-volume production environment.
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Exposure to packaging, assembly, and production line work such as packaging lines and material handling.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, including lever ratchets, for mold and tooling changes.
- Strong attention to detail when visually inspecting parts and samples.
- Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and grow into broader responsibilities.
- Comfort working independently without constant supervision while remaining accountable.
- Interest in long-term career growth within a stable, well-established manufacturing operation.

Work Environment
This is a direct-hire, full-time 3rd shift role working from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, providing three days off one week and four days off the next, including every other weekend off. The operation runs 24/7 with four shifts (days and nights on two rotating teams) supporting a highly automated production environment. The facility is clean, well-lit, and organized, producing high volumes of plastic components on approximately 36 machines that run continuously. You work around automated injection molding equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and standard hand and power tools, while wearing required personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection. The environment is not a traditional machine shop; you are not tied to a single machine all day and are trusted to manage your responsibilities without constant oversight.
