Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description

The Production Associate operates manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment, supports general production activities, and assists with packaging and material handling. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, safe and efficient machine operation, and the ability to work a 12-hour 3rd shift schedule while contributing to a collaborative and dependable team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on plastics machine operation.
  • Set up, monitor, and adjust machines during production runs to maintain consistent quality and throughput.
  • Use a forklift and other material handling equipment as needed to move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
  • Read and interpret work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures to ensure accurate and compliant production.
  • Perform general labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials, packaging finished products, and staging items for shipment.
  • Inspect products for quality, identify defects or issues, and take appropriate action to maintain quality standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of foot and eye protection and adherence to site safety regulations.
  • Participate in cross-training to learn and operate all production process equipment across different areas of the facility.
  • Support team members by assisting with machine operation, packaging, and other production activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and a safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers about production status, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Work a consistent 12-hour 3rd shift schedule (2-2-3 rotation) and be available for overtime when needed, while understanding that overtime is not mandatory.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate manufacturing machinery safely and effectively.
  • Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with plastics machine operation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Basic educational degree, high school diploma, or general education diploma (GED).
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures and instructions.
  • Knowledge of common software programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn forklift operation in a production setting.
  • Dependable work ethic with a strong focus on reliability, hard work, and consistent attendance.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule on 3rd shift (6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.).
  • Ability to be cross-trained to operate all production process equipment and perform multiple tasks within the production area.
  • Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment that can be hot.
  • Strong soft skills, including teamwork, communication, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in plastics machine operation or similar manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with general labor, packaging, and material handling in a production environment.

Work Environment

You will work on a 3rd shift schedule from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. following a 2-2-3 pattern of 12-hour shifts, which provides regular extended periods of time off while maintaining full-time hours. The facility uses production machinery for plastics manufacturing, along with forklifts and other material handling equipment. You will work in smaller teams that promote a friendly and collaborative atmosphere, where clear communication and mutual support are important. Safety is a priority, with required use of foot and eye protection and a reimbursement plan to support proper protective gear. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with frequent movement, standing, and handling of materials as part of daily operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
