Toolmaker

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, modifying, and repairing a wide range of essential tools, including jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, and gauges.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate & Repair: Produce precision tooling, gauges, and fixtures specifically used to manufacture metal c-rings, e-rings, and o-rings.
• Machine Operation: Set up and proficiently operate manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and other tool room equipment.
• Blueprints & Math: Read and interpret complex engineering/tool design drawings, understand basics of design, and perform necessary material and cutter calculations (speeds and feeds).
• Quality Control: Utilize precision measuring tools to conduct tool prove-outs and ensure all finished work strictly conforms to specifications.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively across teams regarding work order status, troubleshooting, and offering design improvements where necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience: * Minimum 5 years of experience using lathes, milling, turning, and grinding equipment.
• • Minimum 5 years of experience in a rolling or metal-forming environment.
• Technical Skills: * Proficiency with precision measuring devices and shop math.
• • Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting production equipment.
  • Ability to read and evaluate engineering drawings.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Excel.
• Bonus Points: Welding experience (MIG, TIG) is a major plus!
