Job Title: Restoration Technician
Job Description

The Restoration Technician performs hands-on restoration work, including water extraction, structural drying, smoke and soot cleanup, and debris removal in residential and construction environments. This role sets up and monitors specialized drying and dehumidification equipment, uses hand and power tools safely, and removes damaged building materials to help restore properties to a safe and clean condition. The technician documents all work performed and communicates clearly with customers and team members to ensure a professional and efficient restoration process.

Responsibilities

  • Perform water extraction and structural drying to mitigate damage and restore affected areas.
  • Carry out smoke and soot cleanup to remove residues and improve indoor air quality.
  • Remove debris and damaged materials such as drywall, flooring, cabinets, and insulation in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Set up, monitor, and remove drying and dehumidification equipment according to job requirements and industry best practices.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively for demolition, repair, and restoration tasks.
  • Complete accurate daily logs, photos, and work notes to document work performed and job progress.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members to provide updates and coordinate work.
  • Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as needed to complete job tasks.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working on job sites, including vacant homes and construction environments.
  • Support general labor and construction-related tasks as needed to ensure timely completion of projects.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of labor or construction experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing and working on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as required by job tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
  • Experience with general labor tasks in construction or restoration environments.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Clear and professional verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Capability to complete written documentation such as daily logs, photos, and work notes with accuracy.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet driving-related requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in construction, carpentry, or restoration work.
  • Experience working in general labor roles on construction sites or in vacant properties.
  • Familiarity with restoration processes such as water extraction, structural drying, and smoke or soot cleanup.
  • Comfort working with power tools and performing light demolition tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail when documenting work and monitoring equipment.
  • Reliability and punctuality in reporting to job sites and completing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a field-based restoration team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
