Job Title: Cable Puller

Job Description

This role supports an OSHA-regulated construction project in Tupelo, MS by safely and efficiently installing low-voltage cabling. You will pull cable between designated points, often while working from a scissor lift, and use basic hand and power tools to complete cable setup and installation according to project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Pull cable from designated starting points to endpoints according to project specifications.
  • Set up, route, and organize low-voltage cables, including CAT5 and CAT6, in an active construction environment.
  • Operate a scissor lift safely and confidently to perform overhead cable pulling and installation tasks.
  • Use basic hand and power tools to support cable installation, routing, and securing.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and site safety protocols at all times while on the project.
  • Read and follow basic instructions, drawings, or blueprints related to cable paths and installation requirements.
  • Inspect work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure safe operation and proper functioning.
  • Wear and properly use required safety equipment, including a harness, when working at heights.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and other trades to coordinate cable routes and avoid conflicts with other installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials at the end of each shift.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a cable puller, with at least 2+ years of relevant cable installation or low-voltage wiring experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring and cable installation practices.
  • Ability to safely operate and work from a scissor lift for extended periods.
  • Basic proficiency with hand and power tools used in electrical and construction environments.
  • Understanding of OSHA-regulated jobsite practices and commitment to adhering to safety standards.
  • Ability to read and follow basic construction drawings or blueprints related to cable routing.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail while working on an active construction site.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Harness use is required when working at heights or from a scissor lift.
  • Lift certification is preferred and demonstrates safe operation of aerial lift equipment.
  • Previous experience working on OSHA-regulated projects is a plus.
  • Experience in electrical, construction, or related trades is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with CAT5 and CAT6 cable types and their typical installation methods is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team and follow direction from site leadership.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
