Job Description

Join a skilled welding team where you will work on unique trucks and agricultural equipment using MIG, TIG, and pulse welding techniques. This role offers both 1st and 2nd shift opportunities with consistent overtime and the chance to grow your welding skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding on trucks and agricultural equipment using MIG, flux core, and, when applicable, pulse MIG and TIG welding processes.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and welding drawings to fabricate and assemble components to specification.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and tools to meet job requirements and ensure proper weld penetration and appearance.
  • Fabricate parts and structures, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and tacking components prior to final welding.
  • Inspect welds and completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and conformance to standards, making corrections as needed.
  • Follow quality control procedures and document work as required to maintain consistent standards.
  • Work safely in a mixed indoor/outdoor, non-climate-controlled environment, following all safety guidelines and using required PPE.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and manage workload across varying and non-repetitive projects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of welding experience in a production, fabrication, or similar environment.
  • At least 6 months of blueprint reading experience to accurately interpret weld symbols and fabrication details.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding, including setting parameters and producing consistent, structurally sound welds.
  • Experience with flux core welding in a fabrication or heavy equipment setting.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing clean, accurate, and safe welds.
  • Capability to work required shifts with regular overtime as scheduled.
  • Physical ability to work on and around large trucks and equipment, including standing, bending, and lifting as the job requires.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred: At least 6 months of pulse welding experience or demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn pulse MIG techniques.
  • Experience with TIG welding is a plus and can support broader fabrication tasks.
  • Experience in fabrication, including layout, fitting, and assembly of steel components.
  • Familiarity with quality control practices in a welding or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability when working on non-repetitive, custom projects.

Why Work Here?

You will work on unique, non-repetitive projects where no two trucks or pieces of equipment are exactly the same, keeping the work interesting and challenging. The role offers steady hours with built-in overtime opportunities and an additional hourly premium for 2nd shift. You will have the chance to broaden your welding skill set, including exposure to pulse welding and various fabrication techniques, while contributing to the production of specialized agricultural equipment.

Work Environment

You will work in a combination indoor/outdoor, non-climate-controlled environment within an agricultural setting, primarily around trucks and heavy equipment. The position offers both 1st and 2nd shift schedules: 1st shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, structured as four 10-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift with mandatory 8 hours of overtime on Friday, plus optional overtime on Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The 2nd shift runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM as four 12-hour shifts, with the 8 hours of overtime included in Thursday’s shift, and optional overtime on Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Steel toe boots and jeans are required, and short sleeves are allowed. You will regularly use welding equipment such as MIG, flux core, and pulse MIG machines, along with standard fabrication tools, while working safely around large steel structures and agricultural machinery.
