Job Title: Medical Assistant – Flu Clinic

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Seasonal or Full‑time Assignment; Weekday and Weekend Availability May Be Required

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support high‑volume flu clinic operations during the vaccination season. This role focuses on patient intake, vaccine preparation support, documentation, and assisting licensed clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient vaccine administration. The ideal candidate is organized, patient‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with consistent patient flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake, including verifying patient information, screening questions, and documenting in the electronic health record
  • Prepare clinic stations, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Assist licensed staff with vaccine preparation workflows in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Provide patient education regarding the flu vaccine, post‑vaccination expectations, and follow‑up instructions
  • Support patient flow by directing patients, managing lines, and coordinating with clinical staff
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, documentation, and specimen handling as permitted by certification and state regulations
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program
  • 1 year of recent medical assisting experience at minimum
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or eligibility, depending on state requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and clinical teams
  • Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced clinic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in vaccination clinics, community health events, or high‑volume outpatient settings
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows related to immunizations
  • Experience with electronic health records and patient documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

About the Role

This position plays an essential part in supporting patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant will interact directly with patients, contribute to clinical efficiency, and uphold high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
