\n Job Details\n

Work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
Ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and procedures maximize patient safety.
Maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment necessary for surgical procedures.
Assist with positioning, prepping, draping, and establishing the sterile field.
Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time out procedure.
Prepare and pass off specimens as appropriate.
Assist in lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients using proper body mechanics.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, including terminal sterilization of instruments and rooms.
Use standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hazardous substances.
Demonstrate competency in assigned access control applications, emergency management, environment safety, infection control/precautions, communication, procedures, and operative pre, intra, and post procedural patient care as per McLeod Health CST Competency Checklist.

\n Job Requirements\n

NBSTSA certification required (only certification recognized in South Carolina for Certified Surgical Tech and Certified Surgical First Assist).
BLS (AHA) certification required for onboarding.
State licensure/license verification required with primary source verification and copy of license/certificate needed (state specific registry).
Proof of immunizations or titers required: MMR (2 immunizations or titer with lab printout), Hepatitis B (3 vaccinations or titer with lab printout), Varicella (2 immunizations or titer with lab printout).
2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required with specific timing before start.
Driver's License or State ID required with valid copy.
Social Security Card copy required.
Criminal background check results required within 60 days of start covering last 7 years, updated annually.
Employment verification for 5 years required.
10 panel drug screening completed within 30 days of start required (rapid drug screen not accepted).
McLeod Profile (resume or profile) required for submission.
McLeod Skills Checklist (clinical only) required prior to start and updated annually.
McLeod Confirmation of Assignment form required.
