Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a local contract Medical Lab Technician for a local contract job in Rochester, Minnesota.

Requirements: Shift Details: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday. Training would be 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday for a period of around 1 month.
\nCentral Processing Lab. Staff perform pre-analytic specimen processing, operates a variety of laboratory and office equipment, enters information and test orders into the laboratory computer system and may respond to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing information. Is responsible for ensuring correct patient identification on specimens and documentation and resolution of pre-analytic specimen-related issues. They are an integral part of the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathology team providing support in patient testing. May operate automated systems and provide training to others.

Job Summary:
\n Performs analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities. Testing is performed in specialized laboratories and may include highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Instrument operation and maintenance \n
- Troubleshooting assays \n
- Evaluating tests for accuracy \n
- Assisting with interpreting results \n
- Operational support activities to optimize testing \n
Works with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results. May work with minimal supervision and may assist with specimen collection. Must strictly adhere to safety protocols to work with infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
