Job Description
The BIM Coordinator II acts as a high-level technical expert leading BIM delivery with a focus on foodservice equipment construction modeling. This position creates and utilizes the model for sequencing and coordination of complex, multi-discipline projects. The BIM Coordinator II manages Revit/ACC models, conducts QA/QC, and ensures compliance with project standards between design and construction teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work on multiple foodservice design projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain BIM models for foodservice systems within project scope.
  • Coordinate design models with other construction trades to ensure accuracy, constructability, and clash resolution.
  • Coordinate seismic support systems in collaboration with structural engineers.
  • Coordinate kitchen exhaust and ventilation systems mechanical engineers.
  • Design and coordinate commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate and coordinate MEP systems.
  • Prepare and issue installation instructions based on approved BIM models.
  • Represent Avanti in BIM coordination meetings.
  • Produce submittal-ready Construction Documents from Design Development level drawings.
  • Generate clear and accurate dimensional MEP drawings.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving department standards and processes.
  • Grow industry knowledge through Avanti sponsored training.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of industry standard software required to perform job duties.
  • Previous foodservice BIM coordination.
  • Previous foodservice CD production and drafting experience.
  • Knowledge of MEP construction related to Foodservice equipment.
  • Knowledge of health codes related to Foodservice design.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with project teams in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced growing department.

Education/Experience:

  • Two years work experience as BIM Coordinator required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in foodservice industry preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Hand dexterity and eye and hand coordination is critical.
  • Lifting. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Use of one or both arms and wrists to lift parts, fixtures, and tools on a frequent basis.
  • Sitting. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, but at least 50% of the time.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately or quickly.
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of structures. Must be able to read a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one workstation to another.
