Location: Denver, CO
Experience: Mid-Level Associate (3–6 Years)
Compensation: Approximately $230,000–$300,000+, plus performance bonus
About the Opportunity
A leading Rocky Mountain law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Energy & Natural Resources practice in Denver. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team representing energy companies, private equity sponsors, developers, and mineral owners on sophisticated transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters.
The practice offers exposure to every stage of an energy project's lifecycle, from acquisitions and financing to permitting, operations, and dispute resolution.
Representative Matters
- Oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures
- Joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, and other upstream transactions
- Energy-focused mergers and acquisitions
- Joint ventures, financing transactions, and private equity investments
- Due diligence for complex energy transactions
- Federal and state regulatory compliance
- Public lands development and permitting
- Renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, and carbon capture
- Commercial litigation involving royalty disputes, title issues, environmental claims, pipeline disputes, and arbitration
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in energy, natural resources, corporate, or commercial transactions
- Experience with oil and gas, renewable energy, project development, or energy regulatory matters is preferred
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Admission to the Colorado Bar, or ability to become licensed in Colorado
