Position Summary: Under the direction of the Aggregate Superintendent and Aggregate Foreman, the Drivers are responsible for performing all driving duties in a safe manner, maintaining and cleaning assigned trucks, and performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Seasonal Role (April–October or November): This position is a recurring seasonal role, running annually from April through October or November.
Duties:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Water truck driver: fill rollers, water grade accurately and follow watering schedules.
- Maintain and clean assigned truck and perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections. Report mechanical problems to maintenance division.
- Maintain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Obey all traffic laws and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements
- Assist other employees and work with others as a team on an aggregate production crew.
- As needed, operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Able to work well with others in a team environment and follow instructions
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Must hold a current Commercial Driver License and Medical Card.
- Able to move at least 50 pounds.
- Must hold a current Commercial Driver License and Medical Card.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Sitting: 80% of time
- Standing: 20% of time
- Driving: 80% of time
- Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head.
- Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day.
- Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
- Working Conditions: 90% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
