General Description of Job: We are seeking a Relay Technician that will be responsible for testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing protective relay systems and related electrical control equipment. This role supports power distribution systems, substations, industrial facilities, and control panel applications to ensure reliable and safe electrical operations.

Our regular work schedule is M-F 8AM-4:30PM with some overtime opportunities as needed.

Duties to include but not limited to:
 
  • Perform testing, calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of protective relays, meters, breakers, transformers, and associated control systems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, protection and control drawings, and one-line diagrams.
  •  Conduct acceptance testing, functional testing, and troubleshooting of relay protection systems.
     Perform field commissioning activities for substations, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and control panels.
  •  Verify proper operation of protective devices including overcurrent, differential, distance, and motor protection relays.
  •  Utilize relay test equipment such as Omicron, Doble, Megger, and related testing instruments.
    Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during manufacturing, installation, startup, and operation.
  •  Generate detailed testing reports, commissioning documentation, and maintenance records.
     Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) activities.
     Follow company quality standards, safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, or related field preferred.
     High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in relay testing, electrical maintenance, power systems, or industrial controls.
 Understanding of protective relays, power distribution systems, and electrical protection schemes.
