Position Overview
The Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the most cost-effective and time-efficient setup, operation, and maintenance of production equipment. This role works closely with Production Leads to prioritize equipment setup and ensures customer commitments are met on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate tools and equipment according to instructions, specifications, and standards
- Control and adjust machine settings in accordance with production and print specifications
- Prepare fixtures, conveyors, and feeding devices and initiate equipment startup for continuous flow
- Observe machines to verify quality performance and output standards
- Verify measuring instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and calipers are calibrated and functioning properly
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications for proper setup sequencing
- Collaborate with quality and management teams for first article setups and adjustments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet use
- Experience using shipping platforms such as FedEx, UPS, or USPS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate pallet jacks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation
Starting at $17.00 per hour, with the potential for higher compensation depending on experience, skills, and qualifications (DOE).
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a machine shop with concrete floors. Temperatures vary seasonally. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
