Environmental Engineer / Environmental Compliance Specialist
Location: Danville, IL (Onsite)
Salary: $60,000–$70,000
Bonus: 5% Annual Performance Bonus

A well-established global manufacturer is seeking an Environmental Engineer / Environmental Compliance Specialist to support environmental compliance initiatives at its flagship U.S. manufacturing facility. What You'll Do
Ensure compliance with all applicable EPA, state, and local environmental regulations
Manage environmental programs including wastewater, hazardous waste, solid waste, universal waste, and stormwater
Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and facility assessments
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and maintain environmental documentation
Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data
Assist with permitting activities and environmental compliance initiatives
Investigate environmental incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Partner with regulatory agencies during inspections and compliance reviews
Support pollution prevention and waste reduction initiatives
Spend time both in the office and throughout the manufacturing facility conducting inspections and monitoring environmental systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field
4+ years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of EPA regulations governing air, water, waste, hazardous materials, and environmental permitting
Experience conducting environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
Experience with environmental investigations and corrective actions
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in an active manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Experience with wastewater treatment or industrial water systems
Knowledge of DOT and hazardous materials regulations
Experience working directly with regulatory agencies
Environmental permitting experience
Experience with chemical manufacturing or industrial processes

Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, flexibility is required to respond to environmental emergencies during evenings or weekends when necessary.
This role combines office work with regular field responsibilities throughout the manufacturing facility, including environmental inspections, wastewater systems, and outdoor compliance activities.
