About the Role
Join a growing, mission-driven clinical team providing specialized wound care across a diverse range of care settings, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, memory care, independent living, inpatient rehabilitation, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.
This PRN role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, hands-on wound care while working closely with supervising physicians and facility teams to improve healing outcomes, reduce complications, and enhance patient quality of life.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will provide expert wound care and general clinical support across multiple facilities, including:
- Evaluating, treating, and managing acute and chronic wounds in alignment with current standards of care
- Developing and implementing individualized wound care treatment plans
- Educating facility staff on wound management best practices and ongoing care needs
- Addressing primary care concerns and determining appropriate medical urgency
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs and imaging as needed
- Consulting with specialty providers when appropriate
- Prescribing medications within scope of practice
- Collaborating with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation and billing
- Applying strong clinical judgment in both routine and complex situations
- Providing care across multiple facility types and patient populations
What You Bring
- Active Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Wound Care Certification (WOCN) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Active BLS certification
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and wound management skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
