PROGRAM: MOMS Care Coordination Pathway for Pregnant Women and Women with Dependent Children.

POSITION TITLE: Peer Support Specialist

REPORTS TO: Program Director

JOB TYPE: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

Offers recovery support in the community and on-site, provides mentorship, guidance, and emotional support to participants, drawing on lived experience to foster trust, and engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Offer one-on-one mentoring and facilitate support groups.

• Share lived experience to normalize challenges and encourage engagement.

• Assist participants in navigating services and building coping skills.

• Participate in program planning and outreach efforts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Lived experience as a mother with challenges similar to program participants (preferred).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Training in trauma-informed care and peer support (can be provided on the job).
