Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering the organization's human resources programs and initiatives. This position supports recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, benefits coordination, policy development, compliance with employment laws, and organizational culture. The HR Manager partners with leadership to attract, develop, and retain a highly engaged workforce while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

The Human Resources Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, helping create a positive workplace culture that supports MFA's mission, values, and strategic objectives.


Primary Job Responsibilities

Human Resources Administration

  1. Oversees the day-to-day administration of the Human Resources function.
  2. Develops, implements, and maintains HR policies and procedures.
  3. Maintains employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements.
  4. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  1. Coordinates recruitment efforts for all administrative and clinical support positions.
  2. Partners with department leaders to identify staffing needs.
  3. Develops job descriptions and manages the posting, interviewing, and selection process.
  4. Coordinates pre-employment screenings, background checks, credential verification, and onboarding activities.

Employee Relations

  1. Serves as a resource for managers and employees regarding HR policies, employee relations, and workplace concerns.
  2. Assists leadership in resolving employee issues and performance concerns.
  3. Supports employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  4. Conducts exit interviews and analyzes turnover trends.

Performance Management

  1. Coordinates annual performance evaluations and goal-setting processes.
  2. Assists managers with performance improvement plans and coaching documentation.
  3. Supports leadership development and succession planning initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

  1. Coordinates employee benefits administration with benefit vendors and brokers.
  2. Assists leadership with compensation benchmarking and salary administration.
  3. Coordinates annual benefits enrollment and employee communications.
  4. Maintains leave administration, including FMLA and other protected leave programs.

Training & Organizational Development

  1. Coordinates new employee orientation and onboarding.
  2. Develops and coordinates employee education and professional development programs.
  3. Assists with leadership development initiatives.
  4. Supports organizational culture and employee wellness activities.

HR Compliance

  1. Ensures compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, and other applicable employment regulations.
  2. Maintains required employment records and reporting.
  3. Partners with the Compliance & Quality team on HIPAA training and workforce compliance requirements.
  4. Assists with investigations involving employee relations or workplace concerns.

Strategic Support

  1. Develops HR reports and workforce metrics for executive leadership.
  2. Assists with workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.
  3. Participates in strategic planning related to staffing, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.

Master's degree or HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred.


Experience

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience.
  • Healthcare or physician practice experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting professional and clinical workforces preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
