Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our accounting department. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of clerical personnel, maintaining the accuracy of our general ledger, and ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with excellent leadership skills to streamline our financial workflows and support accurate business reporting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train clerical team members; delegate tasks, review workloads, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Financial Reporting & Closing: Work along with the financial officer to conduct the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure all financial statements and management reports are accurate and delivered on schedule.
  • Transactional Oversight: Review and approve general ledger entries, cash disbursements, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy.
  • Internal Controls: Work with financial officer to update, and enforce robust internal accounting policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and mitigate operational risks.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Assist external auditors during annual reviews by preparing necessary schedules and documentation; assist management with tax filing preparations and compliance reporting.
  • Budgeting & Analysis: Partner with senior management to assist in budget formulation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work history in related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with a proven track record in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulatory frameworks.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros) and hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and an aptitude for resolving data discrepancies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
