Job Description
PeopleReady of Shreveport, LA is now hiring Lead Cooks in Shreveport, LA. Under supervision of Executive Chef, this position works in the main kitchen and in concessions areas preparing food items for the facility.

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $12 - $15 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Lead Cook:
- Production of high quality food with excellent taste and presentation
- Assist in controlling inventory, ordering and receiving products from storeroom, banquets and concessions
- Preps all necessary food items for the daily service as directed
- Breaks down stations and stores all food properly
- Works clean and keeps his work area free of accidents by following procedures and abiding by local health code
- Checks and organizes walk-in box daily and cleans as needed
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Must be able to perform basic math functions using a calculator
- Other duties as assigned

Job requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision
- Maintain an effective working relationship with employees, guests and others encountered through the course of employment
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast paced environment with the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form
- Must have working knowledge of Food and Beverage operations, including inventory, management and purchasing procedures
- Must be capable of transporting products up and down stairs in critical situations
- Must be able to obtain ServSafe certification
- Working Conditions: Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
- Physical requirements include walking, stooping, lifting up to 30 lbs. to the waist and standing for extended periods of times
- Knowledge: Advanced knowledge in all cooking techniques with experience in restaurant cooking, basic experience in cold/hot cooking, desserts, high end presentation, and basic supervisory skills
