Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Job Description
This role focuses on shipping and receiving electrical supplies in a busy warehouse environment. You will handle everything from small boxed parts to large electrical spools, ensuring accurate packaging, labeling, data entry, and coordination of shipments. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with scanners and computer systems, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak periods.
Responsibilities
- Work in either the shipping or receiving area based on operational needs.
- Package and ship electrical supplies, ranging from small labeled boxes to large electrical spools of non-live wiring.
- Process materials for internal inventory or prepare them for outbound shipment to customers.
- Load outbound shipments onto trucks or flatbeds safely and efficiently.
- Station in loading or receiving areas to unload incoming trucks and verify contents.
- Use RF scanners and computer systems to input products into the inventory and tracking systems.
- Set up shipments in computer systems and coordinate with vendors regarding scheduling and logistics.
- Track inventory accurately and update records in systems such as SAP or other warehouse inventory tools.
- Unpack and pack all orders, ensuring all items match order documentation and are correct before shipment.
- Perform order picking and packing tasks according to work orders and shipping schedules.
- Use material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, to move products safely.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Complete data entry for shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to move materials and products throughout the warehouse.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work varying shift lengths (8, 10, or 12 hours) and remain on site until the day’s work is completed.
- Work weekends when business needs require additional coverage.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
